Men’s Golf Competes in Grand Canyon Invitational

  • The Men’s Golf team finished 17th in the 18 team field of the Grand Canyon Thunderbird Invitational in Litchfield Park, Arizona
  • The Knight’s team score of 943 was 72 strokes behind the first place team, Host, Grand Canyon University’s 871
  • Matthew Garcia had the best individual finish for the Knights with a three round score of 228, good for 38th place
  • Stuart Favretto was next with a 235 at tied for 57th place. Favretto out shot Garcia by a stroke in the final two days, but his first round 84 put him in a hole

Women’s Golf Takes 15th in Lady Otter Invitational

Quick Hits

  • The Knights placed 15 in the 22 team field of the Lady Otter Spring Invitational in Seaside, California
  • The team shot a combined 654, 58 strokes behind first place Nova Southeastern
  • Sophomore Laura Huertas had the top finish for the Knights at tied for 37th. She carded 160 over the two rounds of golf
  • Sophomore Lyra Yoe finished just one stroke behind with a 161 after a second day 78, to finish tied for 39th
  • Nova Southeastern had the top 2 individual finishers, Abbey Gittings who shot back to back 73s for a tournament score of 146, and Sandra Changkija, whose 74 on the second day put her 1 stroke behind her teammate with a tournament score of 147
