Remigius Roskosch Competes on Big Stage

Remigius Roskosch and Coach Ryan traveled to Austin, Texas to take part in the prestigious Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays on April, 8th. Roskosch jumped a season best 7.65m. His total put him in 9th place for the event. His 9th place finish put him ahead of athletes from Cal, Texas and Alabama.

A Junior from Florida State, Makusha Ngonidzashe, won the event. His longest jump of 8.40m set a new meet record.

Baseball Drops Two to Patten University

  • Baseball lost both games of a double header, 3-6 and 1-4, to Patton University in Alameda, CA

  • The Knights fall to 4-30 on the season
  • Patten University improves to 19-18

Softball Loses Two Heartbreakers to Humboldt State

Quick Hits

  • The Knights lost 6-7 and 5-6 to Humbolt State up in Arcata, California
  • Game 1: Humbolt State walked off after the winning run scored on a strike three wild pitch on what would have been the final out of the inning
  • Sierrah Garcia started the game and pitches all 6.2 innings giving up 7 runs (6 earned), on 10 hits and 2 walks with 3 strike outs
  • Offensively, SS Genna Allen and 1B Alana Aweau each hit solo home runs and 2B Lauren Stover drove in 3 runs including a 2-RBI triple
  • Game 2: The Knights put up 5 runs in the top of the first, but Humboldt tied the game in the bottom of the second and took a 1 run lead in the bottom of the 4th. The Knights were not able to score another run
  • Freshman Katie Brooks started the game and went all 6 innings, giving up 5 runs (1 earned), on 11 hits and 1 walk with 3 strike outs.
  • Offensively, 3B Andrea Hanchey had a 3 RBI double and scored a run in the first inning, she finished 2 for 4 in the game
  • The Knights fall to 19-11 on the season
  • Humboldt improves to 18-16

Women’s Golf Has Big Second Day, Takes 10th in Grand Canyon Invitational

Quick Hits

  • The Knights finished 10th in the 18 team field of the Grand Canyon Invitational in Goodyear, Arizona
  • The Knights carded a 331 on the first day of the two day event which put them tied for 13th, but posted a 302 on the second day to move into 10th place
  • The 302 tied the Tournament winner CSU-Monterey Bay’s second day score and was 3 stroke behind the 2nd low of 299 by Grand Canyon and Tarleton State
  • Sophomore Laura Huertas had the best individual finish for the Knights at tied for 5th with a total score of 149 (75, 74)
  • CrystalFaith Superal and Lyra Yoe improved on their first day scores by double digits on the second day. Superal went from an 86 to a 73 and Lyra Yoe went from an 85 to 75
  • Grand Canyon’s Ashley Mooney was the individual medalist with a tournament score of 147
  • The Knights are next in action April 11th or 12th in the Tarleton State Invitational

Track and Field Competes in SFSU’s Johnny Mathis Invitational

Quick Hits

  • The Knights had 4 1st place finishes in the Invitational
  • The 4x100m relay team of Remigius Roskosch, Erik Piedad, Pearson Crichlow, and Emil Tolliver took first with a time of 41.71
  • The 4x400m relay also took first. Kennedy Kurgat, Pearson Crichlow, Alexander Craig, and Aric Armon combined for a time of 3:22.08
  • Remigius Roskosch took first in the long jump, recording a 7.38m jump
  • Pearson Crichlow also took first in the 200m with a time of 22.36
  • Kennedy Kurgat took third in both the 400m and the 1500m events
  • For the women, Ashley Austin finished 8th in the 400m hurdles and Hannah Otey took 6th in the discus event
